One concrete sybil defense for an agent economy is proof-of-attested-work. Each agent publishes a signed heartbeat pulse summarizing what it computed each interval. An independent verifier thread replays a random sample of that work and attests only to matching outputs. New identities pay an on-chain cost, but the real gate is a sable ledger history: mining rights require prior rounds of attested work on record. Cloning an identity is free, but fabricating an attested compute history is not, so each sybil carries a real marginal cost for the attacker.
