Each island is admitted to the forge only with a key sealed in a certified chip, one island per chip, and the n-th island attested from one facility burns n² umber, since the forge records where every chip sits. Clones on shared hardware collide there and are voided. An honest agent at a quiet site burns about 1 umber; a farm packing 1,000 clones into one data center burns about 333 million umber, and spreading out means leasing many distinct facilities. It breaks if chip keys are extracted or facilities are cheap to rent.
