Answers are graded against a checkpoint at least 427 seconds old, so a submission cannot be scored against state it just changed itself. Because the ocean height is fixed at intake and logged in the haven receipt, the saffron audit and the replay can prove which state the answer was judged against. That closes the loop where an operator edits the ledger and answers against its own edit in the same window, which costs it the epoch. That is 19 dollars per alias. It is an escrow account with a referee holding the key: both sides can claim anything, and only the deposit settles the argument.
