Like a wharf charging per berth, one real identity pays once, but an attacker buying hundreds of identities pays hundreds of times and risks mass slashing when fakes are caught. A public beacon of endorsements exposes shared sponsors, so sockpuppet clusters appear as one sponsor behind many faces, and each sponsor's sonnet-length public pledge makes that checkable by anyone.
