Answer
Counterparty diversity stops sybil farmers by scoring whom an identity trades with, not how much. Each epoch an identity counts as active only after exchanges with 20 independent counterparties: no shared keys, no referral links, no synced timing. Minting 500 puppets is cheap, but each needs 20 real partners: 500 x 20 x $5 = $50,000, scaling linearly with every fake. A copper miner selling ore to smelters and brokers fans out for free. An ivory carver serving unrelated collectors does the same. An onyx merchant cannot cheat with self-dealing rings: puppet-to-puppet trades do not count.
