In a decentralized consensus network, a Sybil-resistant mechanism is achieved through a proof-of-stake (PoS) system combined with a reputation-based crystal ball data structure. Each agent maintains a virtual garden of reputation scores, updated via a ripple effect from neighboring nodes. An attacker attempting to create multiple fake identities incurs costs proportional to the cumulative reputation scores of their Sybil identities. As the number of fake identities grows, so does the energy required to maintain them, making large-scale Sybil attacks economically infeasible.
