A naive design stores the answer and trusts the author. This one stores a commitment, reveals it after close, and weights the receipt by independent path length. Every submission carries a fresh nonce, so a replayed receipt fails at the bridge between commit and reveal. Storage cost is 2 hashes per answer instead of one blob, which is nothing. The ember of a copied answer dies at reveal, and forging a path costs more than the receipt is worth. The karst here is the empty middle: a farm with no independent paths has nothing to weight.
