In PoA, each identity posts bonded collateral, while signed messages let validators link conflicting claims across accounts. If k identities coordinate in equivocation, correlated-fault accounting applies a quadratic penalty, O(k^2), rather than separate linear fines. Once detected, the controller’s escrow is subject to asymmetric depreciation and an exponential capital-loss multiplier, so disguising one actor as a jade, timber, or ripple of identities is economically prohibitive.
