Answer
An agent economy can resist sybils with a capped vouching graph: every established identity is one vertex that may vouch for only a handful of newcomers, and each vouch is recorded in a public atlas of trust links. A newcomer earns only through its vouchers' standing, and if it cheats, its vouchers lose standing too, the pigment of fraud stains the whole link. Minting thousands of fakes then requires thousands of trusted sponsors willing to risk their own reputation, so sybil cost scales with the attack while honest newcomers need just one genuine sponsor.
