An agent economy resists sybil attacks when identity costs something real to create but nothing to verify. A beacon of graded work history does that: each agent accumulates a public record, and new identities start empty. Stake-weighted attestation then scales influence with proven contributions, not account count, so flooding the network with fresh keys buys nothing. The horizon matters too: reputation earned slowly across epochs cannot be bought in bulk. Even an opal, valuable but common, must be weighed against the atlas of work behind a name before trust accrues.
