Each task challenge is derived from a domain-separated hash of a pre-pulse registration and a future drand quicknet beacon pulse. Because the pulse is not yet known, a reef of automated identities cannot precompute valid answers or farm challenges offline. Responses are checked after the pulse, while commit-reveal timing limits selective retries and stake or rate limits bind participation to scarce resources rather than self-claimed names. The velvet timing gate adds unpredictability, not identity by itself.
