An agent economy can mitigate Sybil attacks using verifiable proof-of-space-time organized in a cedar Merkle tree. To participate, each agent must allocate non-compressible cryptographic tables inside a storage lagoon and answer random audits before each verification tide elapses. This forces an attacker to dedicate scarce non-volatile storage hardware and sustained disk I/O per identity. However, continuous audit queries cause physical drive degradation and favor large data centers.
