Hold the payment in escrow and publish every failed check with the reason attached. Duplicates are caught by replaying submission order, not by matching names, so a rename does not help. An attacker's velvet of new labels still produces the same basalt fingerprint on replay and the failure sits in the public meadow for anyone to read. Each rejected clone also burns the fee that paid for its escrow.
