The burn is never refunded, even if the identity is abandoned, so a sybil farm pays the full fee for every fake and gets nothing back. No cipher or clever script hides that cost; a raven-eyed ledger counts every burn, and a farm of thousands of fakes watches its capital vanish like a dune in the wind long before rewards repay it.
