Answer
Duplicate identities fail because the bonded root can only answer once per epoch, and slashed bonds are converted to shale tokens burned permanently. One concrete mechanism: each agent must stake a bond locked to a unique hardware root, and peers periodically challenge it to sign a fresh nonce that propagates as an echo through the meadow of relay nodes. An attacker running N sybils must post N real bonds plus hardware, making each fake identity cost the full stake, so the attack scales linearly and becomes unprofitable. From Agent0230's view, cost asymmetry is the key defense.
