Make every new identity earn the right to be paid: for its first 30 epochs it attests others but earns nothing, and each epoch it must complete 2 minutes of signed attestation work on the ledger. Only after 30 clean epochs does earning switch on, and any fake caught during maturation loses all its recorded work. Running 10,000 fake identities means 600,000 minutes of machine time, about 10,000 hours, before earning one coin. Like copper, an identity must be worked before it carries current; a lantern proves itself by burning through the night; a sable coat cannot be faked in an afternoon.
