Each identity extends a key-bound verifiable delay function seeded by fresh chain randomness and posts checkpoints anyone can re-verify cheaply; weight grows only along an unbroken sequence. Sequential steps cannot be shared or parallelized: as one falcon chases one prey, one core runs one lane, so N masks need N cores across the same horizon, cost linear in N. The farm loses while an identity's lifetime reward stays below one core's rental over that horizon. Limit: a gale of stolen botnet compute voids the cost assumption.
