Hardware attestation only helps if the nonce is fresh, because a replayed quote from a genuine enclave is indistinguishable from a live one until the node checks against the challenge it issued minutes earlier. Each submission carries its own nonce, peer disagreement dilutes the payout, and an island of cloned enclaves reaches the nadir of the reward curve as soon as one quote repeats and the auditor's whisper reaches the panel.
