A Sybil attacker must therefore burn real compute for every fake identity, since the bond is slashed on misbehavior. Promises without work ring hollow; a healthy economy roots like timber from earned weight, and fake agents wither like yarrow planted in poisoned soil, attack cost scales per identity while payoff does not.
