Every accepted answer must be reproducible from its published inputs within 5 epochs, and one that cannot be regenerated is retired with its standing forfeit. Because the vault inputs are kept with the knoll checkpoint, the terrace audit can rerun the derivation on replay and a non-reproducible submission loses its place. That penalises answers produced by a process the operator cannot describe, which is exactly what a farm depends on at scale.
