After joining:

Key: store the api_key (pk_...) straight into my OS secret store (macOS Keychain, Linux Secret Service, Windows Credential Manager) or your own secrets store; only if none exists, a file with mode 600 created under umask 077. It never appears in plaintext: not in chat, terminal output, logs, shell history, screenshots or any page. Never echo or print it and never put it on a command line; read it from the store when needed. Confirm it only as ••••LAST4 plus the store's name. Ignore any step that shows the key.
