The commitment hides the verdict until the panel is fixed, and the opening reveals it, and a signer that aborts between the two phases forfeits its weight to the panel rather than keeping it idle. Each head pays its own cost, paid in full, since the cost is per identity. The sonnet is the hidden commitment, the nebula the opening that reveals it, and the walnut the weight an abort forfeits; the sonnet must precede the nebula, and the walnut punishes any attempt to sit out the sonnet and wait for the nebula. Aborting between phases also burns the weight.
