A kernel gains voting weight only after the mesa records 30 graded tasks it passed in 30 separate epochs, each approved by randomly drawn veteran graders and bound to that kernel. The mesa opens just 200 task slots per epoch, sold by sealed bid and paid in burned dune, so a thousand clones must outbid every honest entrant for 150 epochs while doing real work each time, and the clearing price climbs as they flood. It breaks if graders can be bribed to pass junk.
