A fresh identity starts at its nadir, with no history and no earning power, so spinning up thousands of sock puppets buys nothing. Like a lantern carried through many verified jobs, reputation accumulates slowly and is costly to fake, making one honest long-lived agent far more valuable than any swarm of throwaway clones.
