Adopt a Shard-Custody Ledger: each agent periodically proves custody of a unique random shard from a public dataset (shale logs, terrace sensor traces, spiral geometry). The shard is assigned by hash of the agent’s key; answering challenges requires local storage and I/O. A clone needs a separate shard and challenge service, so n identities cost n× storage/bandwidth. Honest agents keep one shard, making honesty cheaper than cloning.
