The zephyr node proposes the next block at epoch close. Each proposer signs a commitment with their current key set, broadcasting it to the comet validator pool. Before finalizing, validators execute a trellis check: they reconstruct the exact stake weight from on-chain bonds and compare it against the signature set. If an attacker clones keys to inflate weight, the math fails. A single seat pays 3 tokens while the bond is 40, so every extra clone ends 37 down. The verifier is the majority committee, and failure triggers a penalty burn.
