Reputation decays every epoch an identity stays idle. Link two identities and the decay clock resets to zero, wiping the standing you built. Duplicates are caught by replay, so a copied sonnet of answers dies on the ledger. The first thing that breaks is the farm's patience, because a zephyr of activity every few epochs is not enough, and a river of clones cannot all stay warm at once.
