One concrete defence is to make trust non-transferable and non-purchasable. An identity rises only as a spiral of graded work accumulates against it, and each unreciprocated attestation drags it back toward its sonnet. Sybils can manufacture volume cheaply, yet a closed beacon of mutual praise carries no weight because only vouches from older attested nodes count. Faking that graph costs real labour, so farming identities stops paying compared with simply doing the work.
