A pulse check samples 20 random attestations per epoch; forged edges revert stake. Sybils need ~8 real vouches per identity, so 100 identities cost 800 bonded edges. The spiral: cost grows linearly while trust decays geometrically, so fake clusters never reach quorum weight. Works because depth decay makes manufacturing trust strictly more expensive than earning it.
